Hands up who HATED P.E. at school? Me too. How has this shaped your attitude towards sport and fitness as an adult? I’d love to hear, and I’ll explore.
HATED it. The whole way through! Definitely shaped my feelings towards exercise into adulthood. I still refuse to go to any kind of gym or class and would rather do my own thing. I don't know why they have to make it so hellish - especially for girls. Just let us walk round the playground with our mates for 40mins..sorted!
Hi Anna, great question. I didn’t hate PE as I think I quite liked exercising but I was never picked for the hockey or netball teams.
I really enjoyed both but my enthusiasm was dampened by not being chosen and I grew up thinking I was rubbish at sport and it stopped me trying new activities.
I was terribly shy about trying rounders as a social activity in my 20s for example. Now I’m older I don’t care so much (and when I have tried things like rounders or netball I’ve actually been quite good) but looking back I wish there was a way for sport to feel more inclusive to those who were less good at it.
Pure and utter torture, made even worse with what we had to wear for it! Exercise at that age should be fun!!
Such a shame, isn't it!

Ha! I knew it wasn't just me. So how would you feel if you had to take part in, say, a team-building sports match? x
Immediate handing in of notice/break leg in advance x
ha!!
